Seisan developed a complete solution to streamline recording and playback with annotation and coach’s commentary across web, mobile, and VR to support real-world coaching workflows.

A performance-driven football organization partnered with Seisan to modernize the way coaches and players capture, review, and analyze practice footage. Their goal was to leverage immersive technology—including 360° video and virtual reality—to create a more effective, intuitive, and interactive training environment. The result was a fully integrated, multi-platform ecosystem spanning web, mobile, and VR, designed to elevate team performance through cutting-edge video analysis tools.

Project Overview

Our client set out to overcome the traditional challenges of coaching with manual workflows and limited feedback methods. Existing tools in the market made it difficult to capture and review practice sessions with the level of detail and perspective needed to deliver timely, high-quality coaching feedback.

Key challenges included:

  • No unified platform to capture 360º practice footage and sync it across devices

  • Manual and time-consuming review workflows

  • Fragmented tools that didn’t work smoothly together

  • No VR capability to provide interactive, immersive perspective for players

  • Difficulty delivering timestamped or contextual feedback

 

The organization needed a centralized, full-cycle solution that would streamline recording, storage, playback, and annotation—across web, mobile, and VR—while supporting real-world coaching workflows.

Technology Details

Seisan delivered a complete multi-platform system tailored for coaches and players—providing end-to-end control over capturing, uploading, reviewing, and annotating practice film.

Solution Components

1. Web-Based Coach Dashboard

A responsive React-powered dashboard where coaches can:

  • Manage teams, players, and practice sessions

  • Review uploaded 360º videos

  • Provide timestamped feedback

  • Access playback tools with synchronized metadata

2. iOS & Android Mobile Apps

Unity-based mobile applications allowing staff to:

  • Record 360º practice video using GoPro hardware

  • Upload footage directly to the cloud

  • View sessions and feedback remotely

  • Access playback tools with synchronized metadata

3. VR application (Meta Quest)

A Meta Quest VR application distributed via SideQuest featuring:

  • Immersive 360º video playback

  • Pause/play telestration tools for drawing on the field view

  • Voice feedback recording

  • Natural, intuitive interaction points for coaches and players

4. Cloud Backend & Processing Pipeline

An AWS-based infrastructure managing:

  • Secure storage via Amazon S3

  • Video ingestion and synchronization

  • Authentication and role-based access

  • Metadata processing and reliable multi- device data flow

This ecosystem provided a seamless, integrated workflow for capturing and analyzing practice data.
